Another storm rolled through last night from 11:30 to 12:30. The lightning was constant but the winds didn’t seem too severe… but evidently it was severe enough for a tree on our street.

The tree appears to be supported by the power lines, which is a) amazing, considering how heavy that tree looks, and b) not ideal.

Generators are running near this (which is only about 8 houses down from us) so those people don’t have power. How we still have power I’m not sure, but I’m expecting to lose it (power, I mean) a few times during the day today as the electric company deals with the mess.

Oh, by the way, I took the day off work today. How wise a decision that was will depend on how long the power stays on here, ’cause it’s hot and muggy out. I’d better cook breakfast while I can. I’m making the BH Big Breakfast: homemade hash browns, onion, green onion (when available), bacon bits, and 3 eggs… all mixed together, with some paprika, red pepper, black pepper, and salt. Maybe some red and green peppers, if there are any.

Update: The Big Breakfast was a success, only I had to use 4 eggs instead of 3 to keep the ingredients in proportion. I’m not so hungry any more.
