Question: how completely over-the-top celebrity-obsessed are we as a society when an article about the TV habits of another country’s royalty makes the front page of cnn.com? How truly sad is it that Britney Spears and the Desperate Housewives consume more airtime per day than the war in Iraq or the humanitarian disaster in Darfur?

Sigh.
