Real estate

Written By: brian - Apr• 26•06

I’m finished with my two real estate courses: Fundamentals and Practice. Next I’ll sit for the national and state exams. Provided I pass, then I’ll find a broker that will employ me as a part-timer. After that… then what?

My primary goal in taking the classes was to learn real estate for investing purposes. As a licensed agent, though, I’ll be able to list properties for sale, and to assist buyers find homes. Is that something I want to do? I think so, but it cannot interfere with my day job. Since I don’t consider myself the salesman type, I don’t think real estate sales is something I can (or want to) make a career of. On the other hand, I did very well absorbing the information and flying through the exams, so I feel I have the academic part of it down pat.

So that’s what I’m thinking through right now. More to come as I start to figure it all out.
