At this time a week ago the movers were about half done, and we were another hour away from the skies opening up, the start of a series of storms that would dump record amounts of rainfall on central Florida. This was our week one.

Despite the rain, we managed to do some settling in. Cable, Internet, and phones are up. Work computer is set up. We have resident IDs. Sherri’s learning her way around in my car. Our phone bills are consolidated. The garage us full but semi-organized. We’ve spent hundreds of dollars at Publix and Sam’s to get our food supply in order. And we’ve done a lot of walking to learn the local streets and trails.

Verdict after week 1: we made the right decision. And I say that in the summertime!
