Fall TV roundup

Written By: brian - Sep• 27•07

I watched Chuck last night (TiVo) and found it “over-done” but quite entertaining at the same time. I think it’s typical pilot weirdness. Haven’t watched Heroes yet (it’s TiVo’d), and am not planning on getting into any other new series except maybe Journeyman.

So my TV viewing schedule will be:
Chuck (I like that it has Jayne from Firefly)
Heroes
Journeyman
The Office
30 Rock
Seinfeld reruns
Jeopardy
NBC Nightly News
The Daily Show (maybe once a week)
Today Show
Amazing Race (when it returns)
Entourage (wife and I _love_ it)

And I think we’ll start watching Weeds via NetFlix, unless someone can recommend a different HBO-quality, non-Sopranos show.

What’s not on the list that I’m missing out on? Note: Grey’s Anatomy not an acceptable answer.

What about “Big Love”? It looks really good and has some great actors in it. I think I want to “Nettflix” the first season. Let me know how “Weeds” is; that’s another one I’d like to check out, if it’s worthwhile.

Have you ever watched “The L Word”? Don got me into that one when we lived together, although I haven’t watched it in awhile. Very enjoyable. Interesting storylines and character development, as well as good writing. Lots of good lesbo action too … if you’re into that kind of thing. ;-)

If you never saw Six Feet Under, it was great. I really liked Journeyman, so it’s on my list too. I watched half of The Reaper the other night & really liked it too — reminded me of “Dogma.”

Survivorman. Bionic Woman was lame, Life has quirky promise — if you are in the moment.

Our Tivo lineup is pretty similar! I just added Journeyman yesterday, but haven’t seen it yet. The big variance is my MTV/ bad telly addiction that remains, “The Hills”, “MTV’s Celebrity Rap Super Star”, “Newport Beach”, and WB’s “America’s Next Top Model” and “Gossip Girl” (not sure how long I’ll last on that one, but I’m giving it a chance…).

Anywho, I just picked up season one of 30 Rock over the weekend. What a great show! I’m so glad to be catching up on that one!

I’m ready for “Lost” to return. They were losing me until the end of last season, but now my passion is renewed. With tentative optimism I’m hopeful that they continue the upswing!
