Parity

Written By: brian - Sep• 20•07

When I was dating Sherri, I loved going to Canada and taking advantage of the exchange rate. Back then, 1 Canadian dollar was worth about 75¢ US. It felt like I was carrying around a “25% off!” discount card everywhere I went. Even for Golden Tee.

No longer.

Today the Canadian dollar achieved parity with the US dollar. The last time that happened I was two years old.

So while this is good news for 1) US tourist destinations, and 2) the investment funds we have in Canada, it is bad news for us in that it makes taking a vacation anywhere else that much more expensive. :(
