So long, McDonald’s

Written By: brian - Aug• 22•07

I only eat McDonald’s for breakfast, never lunch or dinner. Except that I won’t be fetching breakfast at McDonald’s any more, either.

Today was the last straw. They rang the order up correctly (I saw it on the screen), but then:

  • Sausage and egg biscuit had cheese. The ordertaker girl specifically asked me if I wanted cheese with that, and I told her “No no no”
  • Sausage and egg biscuit had no egg. Key component of sausage and egg biscuit: missing
  • Hash brown probably tasted OK when they cooked it… at 5am. When I received it, it would be better used as a hockey puck.
  • Order took over three (!) minutes to deliver. WTF?
  • There was no receipt in bag. Convenient (for them).

How can so much go wrong when there’s so little to do? Amazing.

Oh, and note that I’ve only been to McDonald’s twice since my last rant on here, and they screwed up 1 of those 2 orders. So, yeah… I’ll be seeing what Burger King, Chick-fil-A, and (coming soon!) Wendy’s have to offer for breakfast.

  1. OK. I am so happy to hear that you are no longer eating at McDonald’s. Though it sounds from your post you are doing it for poor service rather than the atrocious food quality…I am glad to know I am not alone in my McDonald’s boycott. I admittedly crave a coke over ice from McDonald’s at least once a week…but I usually manage to ignore it.

    On that note…
What is it about McDonald’s fountain Coke that is SO MUCH BETTER than every other fountain coke? Isn’t Coke a formula, as in a recipe, as in it should taste the same everywhere?
