Looks like my postponed trip to Malaysia is off permanently. On the bright side, I might get to go to Statesville, NC instead!

From a business standpoint it makes more sense to send this other guy, Alex, instead of me. He has more familiarity with the customer. Meanwhile, there’s a project going on here in the States with one of the customers I’m familiar with, so I’ll stay around to help them.

I was excited about visiting a strange part of the world, especially when it’s so cold here and so warm there. On the other hand, leaving for 2½ or 3 weeks so soon after moving into a new house might not be the best idea. Plus, I’d be gone on my birthday (Feb 13, if you’re keeping track)…

I’m still terribly interested in going over there and exploring. With the flight only costing $1500 (which really isn’t bad for 38 hours of air time), it might be an affordable vacation for me and Sherri one of these years…
