We’re a week-and-a-day away from the closing. From what I understand the township inspector was at the house on Tuesday. According to what our agent heard from the seller’s agent from the township guy, we’ll be getting a new railing on our deck, and the bushes around our mailbox will be trimmed back so you can actually see the address.
The appraisal should’ve happened today. I’ll call our lender tomorrow to see if she’s heard anything and when I can expect a copy of the appraisal report.
The move is planned, too. Got that worked out today. I rented a truck from the Penske people — I suppose there’s now a Penske file with my name on it — and I’ve lined moving help through another service. Gods willing, everything will line up. I have a confirmed reservation, and hopefully the reservation keeps the truck there. The movers accepted the job and I need to find out what time they’ll arrive. I have the truck for six hours, I figure it’ll take two hours to move, so there’s a comfortable margin there.
Still left to do:
Walk-through the house on Tuesday to make sure repairs are coming along
Receive the appraisal
Order insurance based on appraisal
Confirm arrival time with the movers; ask if they provide hand trucks and blankets
Order cable service
Order electric service
Purchase and receive washer and dryer
Submit USPS change of address
Notify many, many companies about our address change
We bought a washer and dryer about this time last year. New appliances are so nice to have!
