Everything looks to be shaping up for us to close on the house on the 16th.

The township is out today doing an inspection. The seller must receive a Use & Occupancy Certificate from the township prior to selling the home. They’re on the hook for fixing anything the township has concerns about, such as deck railing, electric outlets, trip & fall hazards, etc.

The appraisal happens Thursday and hopefully we’ll have a copy of that back ASAP. Since the appraisal will estimate the replacement value of the house, I’m waiting on that before purchasing homeowners insurance. That’s basically the last thing we need to do as far as the house purchase itself.

That doesn’t mean there ISN’T a lot to do as far as filling out change-of-address forms, arranging for movers, getting utilities set up, and all that business. Ugh. It’s about to get crazy.
