First weekend away from the ants

Written By: brian - Feb• 26•07

I think my ants are depressed. They’ve lost the will to dig. I came in this morning expecting all sorts of new tunnels — after all, they’ve had 63 hours to work on it — but it doesn’t look like they’ve done any work at all. Lazy ants. At the moment all eight of them are huddled together in the corner, having some sort of sleepy meeting.

UPDATE: I checked back an hour later. Their meeting broke up and three of them are tunneling again. Two other ones seem to spend all their time trying to get out by climbing up the walls (it will never happen… give up), and the remaining three seem to still be in the meeting area, just sitting there. Why are they so lethargic? Maybe they’re sensitive to something in the air here (carbon monoxide? ether leaking from our ethernet?) that I’ve become immune to? Whatever the reason, I expect the new immigraAnts (see what I did there?) will reinvigorate the community once they arrive from Nevada.
